The center influence for this album was unearthed in July of 2019 as I was on the road to perform at a music festival in Urbana, Illinois. Speeding past miles of cornfields that seemed to go on forever, there I saw it. An instant catalyst for a revolution of heart. My eyes locked onto a billboard with one small but explosive sentence: "This is not a road trip, this is a pilgrimage." And seconds later it was gone but I would forever keep this profound statement close to my spirit. I knew this was for me and anyone else who was sojourning towards a greater destination than what is seen with the eyes. I then began to unpack this word and all that it meant to me, and can mean for so many others. I found it to be filled with wonder.

Pilgrimage: A pilgrim's journey. A journey, especially a long one, made to a sacred or holy place. A voyage.

Our entire life is a pilgrimage if we choose to look at it that way. We are on the constant and driving bravely toward a deeper spiritual understanding of our purpose here. We pilgrim into our calling, and through curious and obscure lands we travel on and on. These past four years have been a long and beautiful pilgrimage of healing, growing and getting to know my Father in heaven who loves me more than I ever did know. These songs reflect those sentiments. They also tell the story of an ongoing pursuit of a bright adventure. And so I have found and learned that getting to know Jesus is the grandest adventure one will ever find. And just know he chases after us relentlessly.
